After I get home from Mexico, I will be busy. Chinese new year right away.

I’ll get to see Cathy before she goes back to Taiwan. Tony or William will come to help me with my computer.

Randi, Micah and Kai will have moved into their new house.

Yvette and Al will come soon.

I need to make sure all the info I sent to Fanny is correct. I want 5 of us to have a show at Cityscape in North Vancouver. I’ll need to check out Stride fest as well. Life is never boring.

Ellen and Helen have birthdays too.

Al and Yvette are great hosts. Yvette gave me our address on a piece of paper and a 109 peso bill incase I got lost. Share also makes me gluten free meals. She plans our days very well. We have been to several markets – lots of art galleries- to the beach -in el Centro-just every where. Today they are going on a very long walk so I’m catching up on my reading and writing. Tomorrow we are meeting friends in Bucerias. On Thursday they will go snorkeling. Friday, who knows?

It took 3 busses to get there! The third on took us to the other side of the bay. We saw natural forest for miles. It is gradually becoming developed. The botanical garden had posters that explained how vanilla bean plants grew, how they trained them to grow up and down 5’ tree trunks so they were easier to pick. That they are actually part of the orchid family. It also had posters on growing and harvesting cocoa beans. Very interesting.

There were orchids, fuchsias, and trails to take you every which way. They offered a free hibiscus beverage. We arrived in time to watch them feed the wild birds, papayas and oranges.

The restaurant, museum and souvenir shop were well presented. Donors were acknowledged on tiles on the floor and on sculptures. A wonderful trip.

A night cruise, entertainment and a lovely supper, “Rhythm of the Night” . A Cirque de Soliel” like experience. Arriving by boat with over 3000 candles lit and 500 torches, that makes for quite the entrance. A fantastic performance of acrobats, fire twirling and hand shadow puppets and more. A buffet dinner served in an intimate outdoor setting. We left Puerto Vallarta at 7pm and got back about 12:30am, taking a taxi home.

My grandson’s wallet fell out of his pocket on the taxi that day, luckily it was returned the next day before he flew home.

I was in Puerto Vallarta about50 years ago, what a change!! It was small. We looked for opals on the beach. We took tours to Guadalajara and later to see how Tequila was made. It was a very quiet place. Now it’s super busy -full to the brim with hotel after hotel and just everything. You want it they’ve got it. Markets galore. We’ve taken busses into town, out to the Botanical gardens and out to La Cruz. Every place is busy with people, all friendly.
